HGV Engineering capabilities
Within DMA we have an experienced and accredited team of HGV engineers who utilise their extensive knowledge and expertise in all aspects of HGV vehicle repairs, covering all vehicle types from 3.5 ton panel vans, car transporters, double deck and refrigerated vehicle and trailers to heavy haulage vehicles and everything else in between. Our engineers have the option of either carrying out a desk top assessment or at the request of the client or because of the nature of the repair, a physical onsite inspection may be required.
The DMA team will agree with the client their repair criteria, for example when the use of OEM parts is necessary, or when the use of 'green', donor or non OEM parts can be used. We will agree the repair methodology, for example repair vs replace in all or some repairs. Within the DMA team we also have specialist salvage engineers who carefully assess the viability of the repair verses a total loss decision taking into account all the elements of replacing what could be a specialise fleet vehicle.
Repair Management
Working within DMA is the Repair Management Team who work closely with the engineers to ensure that the vehicle/trailer repair is evaluated and placed within the correct network based on the damage sustained. The repairer will be allocated based on their capability and skill set to carry out the repairs using the correct repair methods and ensuring the vehicle integrity and value is unaffected. Our repair management team have built up a number of specialise repair networks to cover all aspects of fleet HGV repairs. One of the key areas of focus is the management of the vehicle off road time (VOR) because in the world of HGV fleets this is often as costly as the repair its self.
Working with the vehicle manufactures and repair agents, important supply chain strategies are in place to ensure parts and labour are all available at the right time to ensure the vehicle down time is kept to an absolute minimum. All the information including our network planning and diary system is kept within our web based portal which is visible to the client should they require to view the content. Key MI is produced to our clients to verify our ongoing operational performance, we also manage our internal performance and that of our supply chain on a regular basis.
